Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied,
Die Gemeine der Heiligen sollen ihn loben.
Israel freue sich des, der ihn gemacht hat.
Die Kinder Zion sei'n fröhlich
über ihrem Könige,
Sie sollen loben seinen Namen im Reihen;
mit Pauken und mit Harfen sollen sie ihm spielen.

 

Cantai ao Senhor um canto novo,
a assembléia dos Santos deverá louvá-lo.
Alegra-se Israel, pelo que Ele fez.
Os filhos de Sião enchem-se de alegria
sobre o seu Rei,
Eles deverão louvar o seu Nome com danças;
com tambores e harpas eles tocarão louvando a Ele.

Wie sich ein Vater erbarmet
Über seine junge Kinderlein,
So tut der Herr uns allen,
So wir ihn kindlich fürchten rein.

 

Coro 1:
Assim como um pai se apieda,
de suas tenras criancinhas,
Pois o Senhor é tudo para nós,
assim como nós o tememos como crianças puras.

 

Er kennt das arm Gemächte,
Gott weiß, wir sind nur Staub,
Gleichwie das Gras vom Rechen,
Ein Blum und fallend Laub.

 

Ele conhece a nossa debilidade,
Deus sabe que nós somos somente pó,
assim como as ervas no ancinho,
assim como uma flor ou uma folhagem caida!

 

Der Wind nur drüber wehet,
So ist es nicht mehr da,
Also der Mensch vergehet,
Sein End, das ist ihm nah.

 

O vento apenas sopra sobre eles,
e tudo se vai,
Assim como o homem passa,
seu fim está próximo.

Gott, nimm dich ferner unser an,
Denn ohne dich ist nichts getan
Mit allen unsern Sachen.

Deus, continue zelando por nós,
Pois sem vós tudo o que temos
de nada vale,

 

Drum sei du unser Schirm und Licht,
Und trügt uns unsre Hoffnung nicht,
So wirst du's ferner machen.

 

Pois vós sois nosso escudo e nossa luz,
e que não nos enganemos com nossa esperança,
