Warum betrübst du dich und beugest dich zur Erden,
Pourquoi es-tu si triste et penchée vers la terre,
Mein sehr geplagter Geist, mein abgematter Sinn?
Mon âme si torturée, mon cœur si fatigué ?
Du sorgst, wie will es doch noch endlich mit dir werden,
Tu t'inquiètes de ce qui finalement t'arrivera,
Und fährest über Welt und über Himmel hin.
Et tu vas à travers le monde et le ciel.
Wirst du dich nicht recht fest in Gottes Willen gründen,
Si sur la volonté de Dieu tu ne t'appuies pas fermement,
Kannst du in Ewigkeit nicht wahre Ruhe finden.
Tu ne pourras pas trouver le repos dans l'éternité.
