until the Lord of glory
brings an end to this world. |

Wenn kömmt der Tag,
an dem wir ziehen
aus dem Ägypten dieser Welt?
Ach! laßt uns bald aus Sodom fliehen,
eh uns das Feuer überfällt!
Wacht, Seelen, auf von Sicherheit
und glaubt, es ist die letzte Zeit! |
When will the day come
on which we will set out
from the Egypt of this world?
Oh! let us quickly flee from Sodom
before the fire overtakes us!
Wake up, souls, from your complacency
and believe this is the end time! |

Let the scoffers’ tongues revile,
it simply will and must occur
that we will behold Jesus
above the clouds on high.
Let world and sky dissolve,
Christ's word shall steadfastly endure,

The judgment day is coming
for the blossoming of your souls!
You shall flourish in Eden
to eternally serve God. |

Seligster Erquickungs-Tag,
führe mich zum Friedens-Zimmern!

Blessed day of revival,
lead me unto the chambers of peace!
Resound, peal, final blow,
world and sky collapse in ruin!
Jesus leads me to tranquility,
to that place where pleasure abounds. |

meine Seele wünscht und sehnet,
Jesum wünsch ich und sein Licht,
der mich hat mit Gott versöhnet,
der mich freiet vom Gericht,

Neither for the world nor for the skies
does my soul wish or pine,
