deine Angst und Todespein
haben mich so hoch verbunden,
dass ich kann beständig sein. |

Meine Freude wird zwar sterben,
denn die Welt lässt mich allein
und will mich nun ganz verderben,
doch ich will beständig sein. |

Will mich jedermann verlassen,
soll ich mich nicht mehr erfreun,
will mein Fleisch und Blut mich hassen,
will ich doch beständig sein. |

Geist und Seele, Leib und Leben,
Herz und Sinn ist alles dein,

Dass ich kann beständig sein. |

Will mein Glaubenslicht verschwinden,
ei, so soll dein heller Schein
