The American mezzo-soprano and pianist, Emily Adams, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Perfomance and Piano from (2004-2008) her Master of Music degree in Voice Pedagogy (2008-2010), both from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. During her studies, she was Alto Section Leader at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church (February 2008-June 2010); Graduate Assistant at Westminster Choir College EOP/Academic support services (September 2008-May 2010). After her studies, she was Administrative assistant/assistant director at Westminster Conservatory Young Artists Program (August 2010-August 2012); Organist/Choir Director at Allentown United Methodist Church, New Jersey (August 2010-July 2013).
Known for her vocal flexibility and expressiveness, mezzo-soprano Emily Adams has performed operas, concerts, and recitals throughout southern New England. During the pandemic, she had the opportunity to sing the role of Sesto in an online production of George Frideric Handel's Giulio Cesare with the New Mexico-based opera company Antigua y Moderna. Other recent opera performances include Cupid in Orpheus in the Underworld and the Sandman in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, and recent concerts include the alto soloist in L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and G.F. Handel's Messiah. She is also a professional pianist and organist, and has accompanied productions of La Bohème and W.A. Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor for Opera New Hampshire’s educational initiative.
As a ballet pianist/accompanist, Emily Adams has worked with the apprentice company of Princeton Ballet School (September 2010-June 2013), Boston Ballet School (BBII) (since July 2013-August 2014; since January 2016), San Francisco Ballet School (September 2014-December 2015) and the San Francisco Opera dance corps. She currently lives in Nashua, New Hampshire. |
