The French bass-baritone, Ronan Airault, studied first musicology and violin; then taught violin for a few years in several schools around Rennes. He moved to singing, studied at the Conservatoire de Rennes in Martine Surais's class.
Ronan Airault joined the choirs of Rennes's opera. He performs with several ensembles, Mélisme (s) (Director: Gildas Pungier), Les Siècles (Director: François-Xavier Roth), Les Cris de Paris (Director: Geoffroy Jourdain). He sang the roles of Thomas Blunt in Marchner's Der Vampyr; The Marquis de la Force in Francis Poulenc's Dialogue des Carmelites; Ben in Menotti's The téléphone; Der Totengräber in Robert Schumann's Der Rose Pilgerfahrt, Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte at the Royaumont Foundation. He also sang Angelotti in Tosca and Baron Douphol in La Traviata on tour in several cities of France with Opera Nomad. He recorded in February 2013 César Franck's Les Sept Paroles du Christ sur la Croix with Chœur de Chambre Mélisme(s). In August 2013 he sang Mercutio in Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet to the lyrical nights Marmande. In November 2013 he sang Biterolf in R. Wagner's Tannhäuser at the lyrical center of Clermont-Ferrand. He currently lives in Saint-Brieuc, Bretagne, France. |
