Robert Allen (Baritone)

Born: July 8, 1999 - Readfield, Maine, USA

The American baritone and music teacher, Robert (Robbie) Allen, began to study law but after attending Roger Williams University's Law School for one semester, he rediscovered his love for music as well as his desire to help those when they need help the most. Since he left law school in 2023, he has furthered his freelancing as a singer and has started a career in EMS that he intends on growing alongside his work in music as he hopes to make a difference in both a medical sense as well as an artist. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Magna Cum Laude from Wheaton College Massachusetts, studying under Joanne Mouradjian, majoring in Music and double minoring in German and History (August 2018-May 2022); and his Master of Music degree in Voice Studies from Longy School of Music of Bard College (Since August 2023; expected graduation: May 2026), studying under baritone David Small.

Robert Allen is a performer of early music since April 2022. He has performed with organizations such as singing J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion BWV 245 with Marsh Chapel Choir of Boston University (Director: Scott Allen Jarrett), J.S. Bach's Cantatas BWV 39, BWV 131, and Motet BWV 227 with Viva Bach in Peterborough, New Hampshire, the chorus of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra’s productions of La Damnation De Faust, Norma, and Don Carlo, Masetto cover in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni with Boston Summer Opera, Le Suritedent in Cendrillion with the Longy School of Music, and singing “The Lord is a Man of War” from George Frideric Handel's Israel in Egypt in the Longy School of Music’s La Voce Totale. He also is one of the founders of the early music chamber ensemble “The Shaggy Goats”.

Robert Allen has been Voice and guitar teacher at Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio (May-October 2023); Bass Section Leader at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Holliston, Massachusetts (September 2022-September 2024); and bass singer in Marsh Chapel Choir of Boston University (Director: Scott Allen Jarrett). He is currently based in New England.

In addition, Robert Allen has served as Emergency Medical Technician at Coastal Medical Transportation Systems in Quincy, Massachusetts (May 2024-February 2025); and Emergency Medical Technician at Cataldo Ambulance Service Inc. (since January 2025).

Note:
There is another musician with a similar name: Robert Allen Kurth, an American bass-baritone (born 1980/1981 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania).
