Rūdolfs Bacans (Tenor, Conductor)

Born: Latvia

The Lativian tenor singer and choral conductor, Rūdolfs Bacans, studied at Riga Cathedral Choir School, sang in Riga Cathedral Boys’ Choir for 10 years, later studied at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. In 2011 he graduated from the choral conducting department, and in 2013 he obtained a Master degree in the vocal music department.

Rūdolfs Bacans is currently the artistic director of Kandava mixed choir and Tukuma Senior choir in Latvia. He collaborates often as a singer with professional choirs in Latvia, Finland and Denmark. He has been Soloist at Early music in Latvia in Riga (2010-2015); member of State Choir LATVIJA in Riga (2012-2018); member of Latvian Radio Choir in Riga (2018-2021; Director: Sigvards Kļava); member of Helsingin Kamarikuoro (since September 2022). Since 2018, he has been the artistic director of several concerts and contemporary music performances. He sings tenor in Vlaams Radio Koor (Director: Bart Van Reyn) from Brussels. Since September 2024, he has been working as director with Copenhagen Latvian Choir "In corde Meo".
