Christian Backhaus (Baritone)

Born: October 14, 1981 - Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

The Gerrman baritone, Christian Backhaus, began his solo education at the Konservatorium Schwerin with Eva Unger and continued with Reglint Bühler in Leipzig.

In 2009, Christian Backhaus already sang A Gendarme in the university production Les mamelles de Tirésias by Francis Poulenc. The following year, he performed Unhold in Gestiefelten Kater by César Cui and in 2011 Vicar in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring's. At the end of 2011, he sang the title role in Puccini's one-act opera Gianni Schicchi. In July 2012, he played the role of the second stranger in Vetter aus Dingsda by Eduard Künneke at the Musikscheune Melpitz. In November 2012, her performed the role of Argenore in the eponymous opera by Wilhelmine von Bayreuth in Rheinsberg.

Christian Backhaus is a member of RIAS-Kammerchor (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann) since October 2013. He also gives Lieder recitals with the pianist Masako Ono (F. Schubert's cycles Die schöne Müllerin and Winterreise). He currently lives in Vöhl, Germany.
