Inga Balzer-Wolf (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Inga Balzer-Wolf, initially received her training at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where she also completed a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. She then studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf with Professor Anja Paulus and Professor Lars Woldt. In 2021 she completed her Master of Music with top marks. She received key inspiration from lessons and master-classes with Philippe Jaroussky, Anne Schwanewilms, Salome Kammer, Hans Eijsackers and Anne Kohler (ensemble director). She was awarded the performance scholarship of the Studienfonds OWL, was a scholarship holder and academic of the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln in 2020-2021 and received funding from the city of Essen, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the German Music Council.

This broad-based education enables Inga Balzer-Wolf to work not only as a soprano but also in the areas of music education, choir conducting and voice training, which she pursues with enthusiasm. She is in great demand as a soloist. On the concert stage she has performed at the Philharmonie im Gasteig München, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Philharmonie Essen Saalbau Witten, Stadthalle Gütersloh, the Museum Folkwang and Berliner Dom, among others.

In addition, the study of Lieder is particularly close to her heart. She regularly organizes song recitals with the pianist Tilman Wolf, the focus of which is on the study of repertoire from the Romantic to the modern era. Together they won the Exil.arte Prize at the international interpretation competition for banned music in 2020. She has already sung several world premieres not only as a Lied interpreter, but also in collaboration with the CRISPR.Kollektiv, E-MEX-Ensemble and ChorWerk Ruhr.

In the field of music theater, she gained experience at the Münchner Biennale 2018 and the Ruhrtriennale 2022. She also has a lively collaboration with the Theater Koblenz, where she has already appeared as a flower girl (Parsifal) and as Sharon Graham (Master-Class).

She regularly deepens her great interest in ensemble singing as a guest with the radio ensembles of the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig and WDR Rundfunkchor Köln as well as with the ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath). and Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius).
