The Polish soprano, Aldona Bartnik, studied at ZS Muzycznych im. F. Nowowiejskiego w Szczecinie in Szczecin, Poland. She obtained two Bachelor of Music Degrees from the Akademia Muzyczna im. Karola Lipińskiego we Wrocławiu (The Karol Lipiński Music Academy in Wrocław): one in Violin, later on in Classical Singing. She obtained her Master of Music degree in from Koninklijk Conservatorium - Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, specializing in the Early Music performance (2014-2016). She had a vocal training with Rita Dams, Peter Kooy, Michael Chance, Pascal Bertin and Jill Feldman as her teachers. In 2017, she won the third prize at the 4th International Early Music Vocal Competition “Canticum Gaudium “ in Poland and was selected for semifinal round of Le Concours Corneille in France. In 2017-2018 season, she was granted a scholarship - Artistic Residency awarded by the Polish Institute of Music and Dance. This award provides her four solo performances with orchestra that she programs by her own. Her artistic activites was also appreciated by Mayor of Stettin from whom in 2018 she received Artistic Scholarship. In 2019, she received a prestigious scholarship from The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, that supports her artistic research concerning exploration of musical manuscripts stored in The Ossolineum – one of the largest scientific library in Poland.
In 2016 year, Aldona Bartnik has finished with a concert tour in the Netherlands and United States of America. Artist was singing the solo part – I soprano in B minor Mass (BWV 232) by J.S. Bach under Ton Koopman, as an effect of cooperation of students from The Juilliard School in New York and The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Performance received enthusiastic reviews both from The Boston Early Music Festival and The Lincoln Center in New York. The production brought also a professional DVD material, broadcasted two times on Dutch public TV - NPO cultura.
A huge role of Aldona Bartnik vocal activities plays an ensemble and choral singing. Since 2008 year, she cooperates with a numerous prestigious groups including: Vox Luminis (Director: Lionel Meunier; since December 2017), Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe; since December 2018), De Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven; since December 2018)), Collegium 1704 (Director: Václav Luks; since December 2018), La Risonanza (Director: Fabio Bonizzoni; since December 2018), Gabrieli Consort (Director: Paul McCreesh), Capella Cracoviensis (Director: Jan Tomasz Adamus), Wrocław Baroque Orchestra (Director: Jarosław Thiel; since December 2018), Choir of National Forum of Music, Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss; since December 2018), Groot Omroepkoor* (since December 2018), working with Giovanni Antonini, Fabio Bonizzoni, Philippe Herreweghe, Konrad Junghänel, Ton Koopman, Václav Luks, Paul McCreesh, Andrew Parrott and Jos van Veldhoven.
Her master study research concerned unknown repertoire from Polish music history, what is still often subject of her artistic activities around the Europe. In co-operation with Dutch pianist - Maurice Lammerts van Bueren, in 2018 her first solo album "Melancholia" was released by Dutch label Zefir Records. The album focuses on vocal repertoire by Karol Szymanowski, Frédéric Chopin and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Promotion of her mother country music brought her a nomination to the Polonus 2016 - award granted by cultural community in The Netherlands.
With the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble Aldona Bartnik regularly records as a soloist a’cappella and vocal-instrumental music devoted to middle European Baroque repertoire. The albums are released by CD accord label, world-distributed by the Universal Music Polska and Naxos and four of them in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 were nominated to Fryderyk - prominent music award. Soprano took part in activities of the Ars Cantus - ensemble specialized in Early Music repertoire, with whom she recorded album - "Kodeks Wrocławski" with Silesian Renaissance vocal works. In 2016 this CD was also nominated to Fryderyk award.
Aldona Bartnik has performed both as a soloist and ensemble singer on the most prestigious stages and festivals around the world: Lincoln Center New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Royal Albert Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tivolivredenburg Utrecht, National Forum of Music, Rudolfinum, BOZAR, Warsaw Philharmonic, Boston Early Music Festival, BBC Proms, Utrecht Early Music Festival, MAFestival in Bruges, Gent Festival van Vlaanderen, Serenade! Washington DC Choral Festival, International Young Artist’s Presentation in Antwerp, International Festival Wratislavia Cantans, Festival de Saintes.
In 2019 another two albums with Aldona Bartnik's solo participation are planned to be released. First one, in collaboration with the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble is dedicated to S.S.Szarzyński - Polish composer from Baroque. The other recording with the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra brings La Decollazione di S. Giovanni Battista by A.M. Bononcini - and her role as Salomè. For next months she performs also as a soloist and ensemble singer e.g. during an European tour with La Risonanza, Collegium 1704, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra and Collegium Vocale Gent, De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Cappella Amsterdam. Next months brings her also promotion of her solo album "Melancholia". She currently lives in The Hague, Netherlands, |
