Johanna Beier (Soprano)

Born: Esslingen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The German soprano, Johanna Beier, studied in the class of Professor Snezana Stamenković and in the Lied class of Professor Axel Bauni at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim (2021-2022), Supported by the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and the Deutschlandstipendium. She gained further valuable experience in master-classes with Professor Rudolf Piernay, Benno Schachtner, Sibylla Rubens, The King's Singers and Kammersängerin Brigitte Fassbaender.

Johanna Beier is an opera and concert singer in the lyric soprano range. Already during her studies, she was engaged as a guest at the Munich Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. In the years 2021 & 2022, she was part of the summer productions of Kammeroper München in M.A. Walpurgis' Talestri by and as La Contessa di Almaviva in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. (August 2022-January 2023). As part of this, she performed at Nymphenburg Palace, the Cuvilliés Theatre in Munich, and with guest performances in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She made her Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz debut in April 2024 as Anna Reich in the new production of Otto Nicolai's Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, directed by Brigitte Fassbaender.

As a concert singer, Johanna Beier has performed W.A. Mozart's Missa in C minor at the Saarländischen Staatstheater J.S. Bach's Cantatas at the Trigonale Festival, and in 2025, Carl Loewe's Palestrina with the Deutschen Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz in SWR-Produktion. In Christmas concerts 2025 in Darmstadt, she sang J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major BWV 243 and Antonio Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria. In April 2026, she was soloist in Johannes Brahms Requiem with the Kammerchor der Mannheimer Liedertafel conducted by Panajotis Ampartzakis.

In addition to an active concert career in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region with major roles in her field and productions including those at Deutschlandfunk radio, Johanna Beier has a close collaboration with the Trigonale Festival der Alten Musik in Tyrol, where she returned in autumn 2024 with several concerts after her debut in 2023.
