The Dutch baritone, Paul Benders, took piano lessons from the age of 7, and a few years later, he was already accompanying on the organ in church. He was taught by Everhard Krukkert. After graduating from the Pedagogisch Academie, he studied at the Seminary for Special Education, the VU-NT2 program, the Gehrelsinstituut, the Gregoriusvereniging, the Schumann-Academie, and the Conservatories in Enschede and Zwolle. He took singing lessons with Margareth Beunders, Bert Van de Wetering, Jasper Schweppe (baritone), Heike Rowold, Johannette Zomer (soprano), Elske te Lindert, and Tiemo Wang, among others.
Paul Benders held various positions in education, including that of music teacher. He has enjoyed singing for many years in choirs including the Deventer Vocal Ensemble, the Bach Ensemble Amsterdam, La Colombe, and in small ensembles such as Magna Musica and the Catharina Collegium. He also regularly performs as a soloist. |
