The American bass-baritone, William Bolin, graduated from Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California. His accolades include a solo performance broadcast last spring on NPR’s “From The Top”, the 2024 Young Arts National Gold Prize Scholarship for Voice, Orange County Register’s Artist of the Year, Pacific Symphony/Opera FOCUS Award, Presidential Scholar in the Arts Semifinals, and, most recently, second place in the The American Prize’s 2025 Professional Art Song Division. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in vocal music at California Baptist University,
Over the past 3 years, William Bolin has been establishing a presence as a young emerging classical singer. The last 2 years have seen several solo recitals featuring the work of Sergei Rachmaninov, Gustav Mahler, Schubert, Robert Schumann, and Herbert Howells; lead opera roles such as Papageno, Count Almaviva and Sweeney Todd with the OCSA Opera, CBU Opera Theater, and Parnassus Society of Orange County; premiering as the bass soloist for the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic’s performances of L.v. Beethoven's Chorale Fantasy and Symphony No. 9 in LA’s iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall, among numerous other regional appearances as an aspiring musical interpreter. The works of J.S. Bach hold a special place as his earliest musical obsession. He looks forward to an international career in operatic and concert singing. |
