The Russian counter-tenor, Ivan Borodulin (Russian: Иван Бородулин), graduated from the Vocal Arts Department of the Sverdlovsk Music College named after P.I. Tchaikovsky (2016-2021; Ekaterinburg; class of Olga Davydova-Gurevich). Currently (since March 2022), he is a 4th (graduating) student at the Vocal Art Department of the Ural State Conservatory named after M.P. Mussorgsky (Ekaterinburg; solo and chamber singing class of Lilia Polyakova). He has participated in master-classes by Roza Tulyaganova, Alessandro Svab, Natalia Zavarzina, Ana Durlovski. He is laureate of international and all-Russian competitions, including: Laureate of the XXVII International Glinka Vocalists Competition (Moscow, 2024; 3rd prize); Laureate of the XV International Elena Obraztsova Competition of Young Opera Singers (St. Petersburg, 2024; 1st prize); Laureate of the International Competition of Young Vocalists "Orpheus" (Chelyabinsk, 2023; 1st prize); Laureate of the I International Competition of Vocal Art "Magic Sounds of Prague" (2021; 1st prize); Laureate of the II International Competition of Romance Performers "Belarusian Romansiada" (Minsk, 2019; 1st prize). In 2022, he took part in the Summer International School of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, specializing in "vocal art" (class of Ruzanna Lisitsian).
Ivan Borodulin is a guest soloist of the Mariinsky Theater (since June 2023). He made his debut on the theatre stage in July 2023, performing the part of Oberon in Benjamin Britten's opera A Midsummer Night's Dream. He has performed with such conductors as Ivan Rudin (Russia), Eyyub Kuliyev (Azerbaijan), Bisera Chadlovska (North Macedonia), Vladislav Karklin (Russia), Christian Knapp (USA), Gurgen Petrosyan (Russia), Zaurbek Gugkaev (Russia). He currently lives in Saint Petersburg, Russia. |
