The American soprano, Mandy May Bryant, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Teacher Education (2014-2017), and her Bachelors of Education degree in Secondary Education and Teaching University of Victoria in Canada (2017-2018); and her Master of Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Birmingham in the UK, studying with Simon Halsey (2021-2022). Her vocal training with renowned mentors Mark Chambers, Benjamin Butterfield, Rebecca Hass, and Kathleen Brett has shaped her as a captivating and expressive performer.
Mandy Bryant is a highly versatile and captivating vocalist, recognized for her dynamic stage presence and expressive artistry across a wide range of repertoire, including opera, musical theatre, concert works, , jazz, and funk. She is highly regarded as a vocal specialist and has gained much experience over the years leading ensembles such as Vancouver Island Show Choir, and music directing theatre groups through Victoria on Stage and Four Seasons Musical Theatre.A compelling soloist, she recently performed the Soprano Soloist in Johannes Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem with the Conejo Valley Choral Society in Los Angeles. She has performed internationally, appearing with ensembles such as the Vancouver Bach Choir, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Ensemble Laude, Vox Humana, and University of Victoria Chamber Singers. She has collaborated under such esteemed conductors as Sir Simon Rattle and Simon Carrington, and Dr. Elizabeth MacIsaac. She is sought out as a soloist, has performed lead roles in regional musical theatre productions, and regularly performs with other local musicians, including the highly sought-after funk and R&B ensemble Phonix YYJ.
Based on the West Coast of Canada, Mandy Bryan currently serves as the Director of Music at the prestigious Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island (since September 2022). Along with managing the music program, she teaches Musical Theatre, Instrumental Music, Choir, Music Technology, and AP Music Theory. She is also Music Teacher at Saanich School District (since January 2019), and has been Private Voice Instructor & Coach (since 2015).
