The American mezzo-soprano, Emily (Alcorn) Buttram, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education from Youngstown State University (2009-2013); and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Literature from University of Illinois (2014-2016).
Emily Buttram is Professional Vocalist in the Washington, D.C. area. She has been Alto Section Leader (August 2015-February 2017) and Assistant Director, Youth Music (July 2016-February 2017) at First United Methodist Church in Champaign, Illinois; Voice and Beginner Piano Instructor at Cardon Studios (February-August 2017); Development Manager at Cathedral Choral Society (February 2017-January 2020); Section Leader and Cantor at The Basilica of Saint Mary at Old Town Alexandria (since April 2017); Chorister at Washington National Opera (since August 2018). She performed with who has performed with the Stambaugh Chorus and Festival Orchestra (June 2019). She also sings solo alto parts in J.S. Bach's Cantatas at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Virginia (Music Director: Stephanie Mekonen). She married Patrick Alcorn in August 2018. |
