The German soprano and flutist, Stephanie Buyken, studied from 1998 to 2003 German and music education (majoring in singing with Nathalie Usselmann-Kock) in Cologne, followed by flute studies with Ursula Schmidt-Laukamp (Cologne), which she finished in 2004 with diploma. She attended various master-classes, among others, with Dorothee Oberlinger.
Stephanie Buyken has appeared as a soloist in concerts with various orchestras (including J.S. Bach's 4th Brandenburg Concerto and concertos by Antonio Vivaldi). She received her artistic singing training from 2004 to 2006 with Barbara Schlick (Wuppertal), deepened by studies in Paris with Isabelle Guillaud and currently Michaela Krämer (Düsseldorf). As a soprano, she also unfolds a lively concert activity. Here, she has developed a broad repertoire, which is focused in the areas of oratorio (J.S. Bach: Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248), Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), B minor Mass (BWV 232), Magnificat (BWV 243); A. Vivaldi: Gloria, George Frideric Handel's Alexander Feast), Lieder and chamber music. As a flutist and soprano singer, she is a member of the Baroque Ensemble Nel Dolce. |
