The English soprano, Alicia Carroll, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with Honours and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education with Honours, both from St Bernards Grammar School, Slough (Class of 1981). She then studied at Kingston University (1981-1984).
Alicia Carroll is a professional freelance classical singer since June 1990. She has been a member of Gabrieli Consort & Players (Director: Paul McCreesh), and worked as freelance with various international vocal groups, including The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips), Choir of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Polyphony (Director: Stephen Layton), The Sixteen (Director: Harry Christophers), Academy of Ancient Music (since December 2022; Director: Richard Egarr), London Voices (since December 2022; Director: Terry Edwards); and professional choir fixer for The English Concert (Director: Trevor Pinnock) and London Handel Festival (since September 2003; Director: Laurence Cummings). She is also singer and solo fixer for weddings and funerals and concerts at various cathedrals including St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Bath Abbey and Wells Cathedral.
Alicia Carroll is Singing Teacher at Prior Park College (2001-2016) and, Singing Bath Abbey Choir (since September 2005), Monkton Combe Senior School in Bath (since 2011), Dauntsey School (2015-2024), Downside Abbey & School (since September 2021), Works at Kingswood School Bath (since December 2024). She is also Private Singing Teacher working with all ages and including choristers at Bath Abbey. She Mentor to National Youth Choir of Great Britain. She married to Mike Entwisle on August 29, 1992; and currently lives in Bath, Somerset. |
