The Italiamn mezzo-soprano, Elena Carzaniga, devoted herself to choral music since her young age, performing a repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant to Baroque music. Later on, she undertook the studies of opera singing at the Milan Conservatory, and graduated under the teaching of Delfo Menicucci.
Elena Carzaniga was soloist in Schola Gregoriana Ticiniensis conducted by G. Conti. She has performed in Switzerland, Italy and Portugal as a guest of Festival de Musique Ancienne de Rougemont, Cantar di Pietre, Festival Internazionale di Canto Gregoriano, etc. She has also performed in the production of Monteverdi's L'orfeo and Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria, conducted by Ottavio Dantone, as well as in the world premiere of Antonio Vivaldi's Andromeda Liberata, under the baton of Andrea Marcon.
Elena Carzaniga is a member of La Compagnia del Madrigale since the very beginning of the ensembles’s activity. In 2006 she joined the Coro della Radio Svizzera (RSI), directed by Diego Fasolis, both as a choir member and as a soloist. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Triacamusicale Ensemble, performing in concerts and CD recordings. She also sings with Coro Costanzo Porta,
Elena Carzaniga sings all over Europe with many groups, including L'Aura soave, Biscantores, Adiastema, Stilmoderno, La Reverdie, Cantar Lontano, Cantica Symphonia, Modulata Carmina, Ensemble Magnificat (Director: Massimo Grechi), Accademia Bizantina (Director: Ottavio Dantone), I Barocchisti (Director: Diego Fasolis), Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, La Risonanza (Director: Fabio Bonizzoni), Concerto Italiano (Director: Rinaldo Alessandrini), Venice Baroque Orchestra (Director: Andrea Marcon), Ecoantica, Florilegium, RTSI symphony orchestra , Orchestra Mozart (Director: Claudio Abbado) and La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall).
Elena Carzaniga is engaged in an intense teaching activity at music schools, choral societies, primary and nursery schools.
