The German soprano, Defne Celik, has been a student of Professor Dr. Marek Rzepka at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (HMTMH) since the winter semester of 2022. She has been enrolled at HMTMH since the age of 13, initially at the Institute for Early Support of the Musically Gifted (IFF) and later as a junior student. Since early childhood, she has received vocal lessons both as a member of various children's choirs and as a soloist. Other instruments also sparked her interest, so that in addition to singing, she continues to play the cello and piano. She sang in the Mädchenchor Hannover for four years and performed in various musical and theater productions, including two years in the Club XS/XM of the Staatsoper Hannover. She has received additional support since December 2021 as a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin “Live Musik Now” Hannover e.V. scholarship program. In 2023, she won the special singing prize from the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation at the Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs and performed as a soloist in the “Podium der Jungen” (Podium of the Boys) program on NDR Kultur in June 2023. In 2024, she won 3rd Prize at Igersheim - Classical Singing Competition DEBUT 2024. In February 2025, she attended master-class with Brigitte Fassbaender.
Defne Celik recently performed at the Mozartfest Würzburg in the Kaisersaal of the Würzburg Residence. |
