Richard Chapline (Baritone)

Born: April 30, 1922 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Died: October 2, 2004 - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA

The American baritone, Richard B. Chapline, was a son of the late Joseph and Ethel (Blake) Chapline. He was a graduate of Overbrook High School, Class of 1940, and received a Bachelor of Science degree (1947-1951) and his Master of Science degree as a student of Mack Harrell from Juilliard School of Music in New York.

Richard Chapline was a professor of music at Wilkes University for 38 years. Among his students: Nathan Santos, Larry Vojtko. He was a member of numerous civic organizations.

Richard Chapline, formerly of Mallery Place, Wilkes-Barre, died on October 2, 2004, in Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by sister, Ethel Haughey, and was survived by brother, Joseph Chapline, Lake Sunnapee, N.H.; several nieces and nephews.
