Josh Cooter (Tenor)

Born: Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, England

The Engish tenor, Josh Cooter, studied music at King’s College London.

Josh Cooter now pursues a busy varied professional career touring worldwide and recording as a soloist for some of the UK’s most prestigious consorts such as The Sixteen (Director: Harry Christophers), Gesualdo Six and Fieri Consort (Artistic Director: Hannah Ely). His opera highlights include singing the title role in Rameau’s Pygmalion at Brighton Early Music Festival where he was described as “a perfectly anguished tenor…with gorgeously honeyed tones” (Brighton Latest), and appearing in the UK’s first ever professional performance of George Frideric Handel\s Belshazzar at Grange Festival. Recent and future concert appearances include Benjamin Britten's The Death of St Nicholas and Winter Words, and Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion BWV 245.

Josho Cooter currently lives in London. Away from singing, he can be found either scouting London's back-alleys for the latest pop-up food joints or glued to my headphones trying to discover the newest bands to listen to.
