The English soprano and singing teacher, Lucy Cronin, was a Choral Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge (Class of 2011), where she studied French and German.
Lucy Cronin sings with a number of consort groups and choirs; recent and forthcoming engagements are with Sansara, London Choral Sinfonia and Oxford Bach Soloists (Director: Tom Hammond-Davies), and alongside ensembles including The English Concert (Director: Trevor Pinnock), Philharmonia Orchestra and London Contemporary Orchestra. Lucy has performed as soprano soloist at distinguished venues such as St Martin-in-the-Fields, St John’s Smith Square and GLive Concert Hall, and as far afield as Kazakhstan Central Concert Hall. Her opera roles include Vita Mondana Rappresentatione di Anima, et di Corpo (March 2012), Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, and Britney in Timberbrit (Jacob Cooper, European premiere, March 2012). Last summer she joined the company of Bampton Classical Opera for their 2018 season.
Lucy Cronin is a stylistically versatile performer. She has appeared at jazz festivals in England, Germany and China, and recently gave a recital of American Songbook favourites for Haywards Heath Music Society. She is a member of the vocal group Shards, whose debut album was released last month. She is also a founding member of progressive ensemble Festival Voices, bringing bold, collaborative choral music to new audiences in unexpected venues.
As well as her teaching at Hampton Court House, Lucy Cronin teaches at Radley College, The Tiffin Girls’ School and Whitgift School. She currently lives in London. |
