The Austrian soprano, Anna Dieterich, studied Opera singing with Maria Loidl in Vienna, and Lied and Oratorio under the tutelage of acclaimed professor Walter Moore, which engendered a fascination with Lied and Oratorio that remains with her to this day. She continued her education with professor Claudia Visca and took part in master-classes of Ester Salaman, Verena Rein and Thomas Hampson.
Anna Dieterich sang in numerous ensembles and was part of the chamber choir Wiener Singakademie Kammerchor, which secured an award at the international A Cappella competition in Corinthia. She sang under the baton of Bertrand de Billy, Georges Prêtre, Christian Thielemann and Ton Koopman. Opera roles include Christel in C. Zeller's Der Vogelhändler, Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, Lauretta - Cara in R. Simms' Die Patin, Fantime in C.M.v. Weber's Abu Hassan, and Bastienne in W.A. Mozart's Bastien et Bastienne. Together with the Doha Baroque Ensemble she has performed J.S. Bach's Cantatas, George Frideric Handel's Messiah, J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248 and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater.
Anna Dieterich has been living in Doha for many years, teaching singing at Qatar Music Academy since September 2011. She participates in various performances of the Qatar Philharmonic Orhestra and its ensembles. |
