The Dutch bass-baritone, singing teacher and choral conductor, Ronald Dijkstra, initially started studying Church music and studied Piano, Organ, Choral Direction and Singing. After a number of years of singing studies with Rom Kalma, he continued his studies with Jos Burcksen. In addition, he continued his piano studies and further qualified as a choral conductor with, among others, Reinier Wakelkamp and Daniel Reuss. For several years he worked together with the Dutch baritones John Bröcheler and Henk Smit. Currently he is being coached by the American tenor James McCray.
As a solo singer Ronald Dijkstra can regularly be heard in various opera and oratorio performances. He often performs as a Lieder singer.
As a choral conductor, Ronald Dijkstra has been associated with De Goede Herder parish in Amsterdam-Buitenveldert for over 25 years and has been directed the Kamerkoor Podevijn, which he founded 15 years ago.
As a singing teacher, Ronald Dijkstra has worked for years at the Muziekschool Zuid-Oost in Amsterdam and currently he gives singing lessons at the Centrum voor Kunst en Cultuur 'Het Koorenhuis' in The Hague and private singing lessons in Amsterdam, to amateurs as well as to advanced and professional singers. . |
