Elisabeth Eliassen (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: October 1961 - Berkeley, California, USA

The American mezzo-soprano singer, poet, writer and blogger, Elisabeth Eliassen, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Vocal Performance, Vocal music) from Sonoma State University (1981-1984).

Elisabeth Eliassen has been mezzo-soprano singer since January 1985, singing everything from chant to 21st century New Music. Current affiliations: American Bach Choir (since December 1994; Director: Jeffrey Thomas), Pacific Edge Voices (since September 1994; formerly Pacific Mozart Ensemble), Sanford Dole Ensemble (since 2009), San Francisco Renaissance Voices (since July 2008), The Buttress (since August 2012).

In addition to singing Elisabeth Eliassen has been Technical Writer at TDMC Novato, California (1991-2000), Managed Documentation Department and projects for a direct marketing service bureau performing high-end murge/purge processing. Documentation for internal users of proprietary software; documentation of procedures in all departments. Hardcopy and RoboHelp for internal network; Administrator at Home of Truth Spiritual Center in Almeda (July 2005-December 2006); Administrator at Alameda Public Affairs Forum (January 2007-November 2009); Poet, ASCAP at Songs of a Soul Journey (since January 1985); Owner/Operator at Scribes Writing Support (since April 2005); Service Support Specialist of Adult and Aging Department at Alameda County Social Services Agency (since March 2022).

Elisabeth Eliassen has been a member of Bay Area Editor's Forum since September 2012. She is an experienced copy, developmental, technical and creative copyeditor and writer, ready to help with all textual content needs. Her professional experience over the past twenty years includes technical writing, editing, writing and consulting - dealing with text in a wide variety of styles, settings and modes of delivery for business, nonprofit and general audiences. Although, her educational background was in music, she has worked with academic, business and other writers on works that reflect various disciplines and genres, from business to creative. She has read widely in many fields, including art, history, music, literature, philosophy, politics, psychology, religions, sociology, and general science. She currently lives in Alameda, California.
