The Swedish baritone, Karl-Peter Eriksson, studied classical singing the Musikkonservatoriet in Falun (2003-2005); and obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Oapera from the University of Music and Drama Gothenburg (2005-2009).
Karl-Peter Eriksson is active as a freelance singer since June 2009. He has had roles such as Smirnov in William Walton's The Bear, Aeneas in Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas (Göteborg Barokk/Utenomjordiske 2014/2018) and Apollo in George Frideric Handel's Apollo e Dafne with Nivalis Barokk. Karl-Peter Eriksson is a singer and artistic director of the opera company Man Must Sing. The company has had great success with its contemporary commissioned works, such as Kom inte hit (2018), and Akvarium (2018). The latter was selected for the 2017 Stage Art Biennial, as a representative of Sweden's best performing arts. He is one of the singers in Göteborg Barokk, and has participated in several concerts and stage performances. In 2021, the album "L'Orfeo - a tale in music" was released, where he sings the role of Plutone together with, among others, Höör Barokk. The album "The Svenska Messan" was released by Göteborg Barokk in 2021. Both releases have received great recognition. He currently lives in Gothenburg, Sweden. |
