Pierre Évreux (Tenor)

Born: 1971 - Lyon, France

The French tenor, Pierre Évreux, studied Classics and Philosophy, before choosing to devote himself to singing. In 1993 he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon and the following courses in lyric art in the class of Margreet Honig. He completed his training with Gary Magby then Nicolai Gedda.

Pierre Évreux took part in several productions of the Opéra National de Lyon and the Opera Studio, of which he was a member from 1999 to 2001, as well as ensembles such as Les Talens Lyriques (Christophe Rousset), Collegium Vocale Gent, La Chapelle Royale (Philippe Herreweghe), La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy (Jean-Claude Malgoire), Le Concert Spiritual (Hervé Niquet), with whom he recorded three discs devoted to Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Capriccio Stravagante (Skip Sempé) ...

On stage and in concert, Pierre Évreux performs regularly works by Monteverdi, Cavalli, J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Haydn, Mozart or L.v. Beethoven, Rossini, de Falla ... His repertoire also includes the Lied and melody. In this area he works with Ruben Lifschitz, with whom performs such composers as Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, Charles Gounod, Gouvy, Gabriel Fauré ...

Since September 2003, Pierre Évreux is an ensemble member of the Detmold Opera (North Rhine), where he embodies particularly Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte by Mozart), Fenton (Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor by Nicolai), Gonzalve ( L'heure espagnole by Ravel), Wenzel (La Fiancée vendue by Smetana) and Boccaccio (in the operetta of the same name Suppé).
