The Swedish-born mezzo-soprano, Rebecca Forsberg Svendsen, studied at Musikgymnasiet, Heleneholmsskolan, Malmö, Sweden (1992-1995). She studied singing in Soloist Class at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium (The Royal Danish Academy of Music) in Coipenhagen (1995-2002), where she made her debut concert in 2002. She has also studied scenic performance in Istanbul at the choreographer Hazal Selcuk.
Rebecca Forsberg Svendsen works as ensemble singer at the highest level as well as a soloist in many different contexts. She was a church singer at Rungsted Kirke in Rungsted, Frederiksborg, Denmark (1996-2008). She was a singer in Ars Nova Copenhagen (Current Director: Paul Hillier) (1996-2002), Violonbanden (2007- 2011), The Danish Radiochoir, Musica Ficta (Director: Bo Holten) in Copenhagen, Voces ensemble in Copenhagen, DR VokalEnsemblet, Göteborg Baroque (Director: Magnus Kjellson) in Gothenburg, Mogens Dahl Kammerkor in Copenhagen, Copenhagen Soloists, DR Koncertkoret in in Copenhagen, Danmarks Radio (since August 2014). She has been a member of Ars Nova Copenhagen since August 2015. She sings Baroque music and cooperate with the eleading Baroque ensembles and orchestras of Denmark and Sweden, including with Enghave Barok (Director: Christian Dehn Bang) in Copenhagen.
Rebecca Forsberg Svendsen has premiered numerous new contemporary works by living composers, including opera EZRA at Odinteatret. She currently lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since September 2017, she works as producer at Monas Magasin. |
