The Canadian tenor and choral conductor, Nathan Gritter, studied Music Education at University of Toronto (2017-2021); and obtained his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Toronto (Class of 2024), studying with Dr. Jamie Hillman. Currently he studies for his DMA degree in Historical Performance at University of Toronto (since September 2024). He played a large role in the organization and artistic leadership of the University's performance of Considering Matthew Shepard in 2023, co-conducting the work.
Nathan Gritter is the Director of Music at Kingsway-Lambton United Church (since September 2017), conducting its Chancel Choir. His passion and expertise in choral music has led him to work with groups such as The Elora Singers, Toronto Mendelssohn Singers, Choir 21, Trinity Bach Project, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra & Chamber Choir, and the Theatre of Early Music (Director: Daniel Taylor).
Recent projects include soloist features in Benjamin Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb with the Elora Singers and J.S. Bach's Cantatas Aus der Tiefen rufe ich, Herr, zu dir BWV 131 and Himmelskönig, sei wilkommen BWV 182 with the Trinity Bach Project. He is looking forward to an upcoming project in western France, working with Paul Agnew and Les Arts Florissants. He currently lives in Toronto, Ontario. |
