The German contralto, Gesine Grube, studied first Business Administration at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Politik (HWP) in Hamburg, obtaining diploma in Business Administration (1982-1985). She graduated with DML degree in Singing from the Hamburger Konservatorium (1985-1989) and with Kammersängerin Gisela Litz. In 1989, during her studies, she was hired by the Norddeutschen Rundfunk Chor (NDR-Chor), of which she has been a member ever since.
Soloist engagements, especially in Lied and oratorio, have taken Gesine Grube to numerous German cities and other European countries. She has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Hans-Christoph Rademann, Robin Gritton, Michael Gläser, Philipp Ahmann and Stefan Parkman. As a member of various vocal ensembles, notably the Brahms-Vokalquartett-Hamburg and the female vocal quartet Philomela, she also played a leading role, such as at the Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival and the Festspielen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In addition, she has participated in numerous radio recordings. She currently lives in Hamburg, Germany. |
