The Australian tenor, graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2021, where he trained in classical voice performance, studying under the scholarship with renowned vocal pedagogues Maree Ryan AM, Andrew Dalton, and David Greco.
Thomas Hallworth has a particular passion for Baroque performance, chamber opera and consort singing. Throughout his singing career, he has enjoyed pursuing a diverse range of engagements, ranging from operatic performances, movie soundtrack recordings, church singing, historically informed performance, and more. Many of these engagements have been with some of Australia’s finest musical establishments, including Pinchgut Opera, Cantillation, Adelaide Festival, and Luminescence Chamber singers, and Castalia Vocal Consort. He has also been appointed a Lay Clerk - a professional choral singer - at St Andrew’s Cathedral Sydney, St James’ King St Sydney, and St Mary’s Cathedral Sydney. He has been a member of Choir of St James' since May 2019.
In the oratorio and opera world, Thomas Hallworth most recently sang the roles of Mopsa, Phoebus, and Autumn in Purcell’s Fairy Queen with St Paul’s College, Sydney. In September, he appeared as the tenor soloist for Josef Rheinberger's Requiem with The Joubert Singers, and 2022, he sang as a tenor soloist in George Frideric Handel's Messiah with the Choir of St James' King Street in 2022, conducted by Warren Trevelyan-Jones. Other notable opera engagements include the chorus for Pinchgut Opera’s 2021 performance of Platée, as well the chorus for the remarkable Romeo Castellucci production of W.A. Mozart's Requiem as part of Adelaide festival’s 2020 season, in collaboration with State Opera South Australia.
