Hanze Projecten organizes choral performances in classical music, mainly in the Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen, as the name Hanze (Hanseatic) comes from. However Hanseatic cities stretch from the Baltic Sea to the IJsselmeer, so may keep the project choir in the future in other towns.
The Initiator is the conductor and artistic director Joost Hekel. Depending on the project he has worked with various ensembles and soloists. This is done by appropriate instruments, such as the Hanze Bach Project by Barokorkest Graafschapconsort. This ensemble includes specialists in historical performance practice as Antoinette Lohmann and Paul van der Linden. They strive to annually organize a project and finish with two or three concerts.
The Hanze Projectkoor (Hanze Project Choir) consists of 30-40 enthusiastic and experienced singers from Deventer, Zutphen and the surrounding area. For each project, the choir is rebuilt. They rehearse in a semi-professional setup. That is to say, in an intensive and short repetition time of about 8 weeks, depending on musical works to be carried out. Rehearsals usually find during the day and partly in the evening rather than in Zutphen and Deventer. |
