The English soprano, Catherine (or Catharine) Hawkins, started singing in the church choir at a young age. She sang in various productions, including a leading role in the musical Caren. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from University of Exeter (1995-1996); her Masters degree in English Language and Literature/Letters (1992-1997) and her Master's degree, postdoc teaching (1997-1998) from Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. In addition, she completed her singing studies at the Brabants Conservatorium in the Netherlands, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree as vocalist (2000-2005).
Catherine Hawkins has many years of experience as a teacher at various secondary schools in the Netherlands. She has worked as English Teacher at Jacob Roelands Lyceum in Boxtel (January 1997-August 2005); Innovator / Head of English Department / Cambridge English / teacher / mentor at St.-Odulphus Lyceum in Tilburg Area, Netherlands (September 2005-January 2015); IB curriculum development / teacher / mentor at Cambreur College in Dongen (since January 2015).
Since 2005, Catherine Hawkins has regularly sung as a soloist in various oratorios and passions. Since 2017 (or September 2018), she has been part of the Baroque ensemble Venti Musicali. |
