Shanta R. Hejmadi is a singer, mother, piano teacher, small business owner, and prize-winning jam maker. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Vocal Performance (teacher Kenneth Wood Bozeman) from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin (1997-2001).
Shanta Hejmadi has had distinct joy and honor to sing with such notable names as Maria Jette, Abbie Betinis, Jocelyn Hagen, and the Bach Society of Minnesota; but in her heart of hearts, she actually nurtures a deep and compulsive love of canning and pickling. Her jams and jellies have won ribbons at the Minnesota State Fair the past 3 years, including a Best In Show award in 2015. Licensed Simply Music Teacher since January 2010 and an Advanced Simply Music Teacher since January 2013, she teaches about 30 piano students at Simple Gifts Piano in the Nokomis neighborhood of Minneapolis (and is currently accepting new students). She also helps other music teachers transform themselves into Entrepreneurial Superheroes through the classes, blog, and individual consulting offered by her enterprise Minding Your Own Business (since June 2014). She currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |
