The Mexican choral conductor, pianist, and soprano singer, Edith Mora Hernández, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, Mexico and her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (2025). Since September 2025, she studies at the Boston University.
Edith Hernández served as the artistic director of the Opera Guanajuato choir in Mexico, which, under her leadership, became the principal chorus for the Orquesta Sinfonica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, where she was chorus master and assistant conductor for choral-orchestral works like: Dmitri Shostakovich early symphonies, Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8 and L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.
Edith Hernández was as a lecturer at the 2022 MASSACDA Summer Conference in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is a recipient of a scholarship from Mexico’s Consejo Nacional de Humanidades, Ciencias y Tecnologías, which supports professionals in the arts and culture for graduate studies abroad.
In February 2024, Edith Hernández made her debut as an orchestral conductor with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Boca del Río in Veracruz, Mexico. In 2024 She served as assistant conductor for W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni production at the international festival Palermo Classica in Italy. In the Boston area, she was an assistant chorus master for the Boston Lyric Opera Production of Aida in collaboration with the Boston Lyric Opera and Back Bay Chorale. She also works at Boston Children's Chorus (since December 2024); and at Radcliffe Choral Society (since September 2025). She currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. |
