Maarten van den Hoven (Tenor, Piano, Choral Conductor)

Born: Drunen, North Brabant, the Netherlands

The Dutch tenor, pianist and choral conductor, Maarten van den Hoven, was born into a musical family and knew from an early age that making music would take a siginificant part of the daily activities. He plays piano since the age of 7, and in 2007 he passed successfully his final examination in piano at the Conservatory in Tilburg.

Maarten van den Hoven is currently working extensively as a piano teacher, including at the Centrum voor de Kunsten de Aleph in Drunen. In addition, he is a sought-after accompanist, including with choirs. This has meant that he is currently pianist of choral society Très Jolie from Nieuwkuijk and conductor/pianist of the choir Albateso from Haarsteeg. More and more he presents himself as a full-fledged musician. In addition to these accompanying activities, he sings frequently as a tenor and in both disciplines has participated in many concerts.

Maarten van den Hoven has established some engagements with Popkoor d'Accord from Oss, and gradually the question presented itself for a longer period as interim musical director of this enthusiastic group. This was a great challenge. The management and conducting of Popkoor d'Accord bring enthusiasm, spirit, musical challenge and fun. The collaboration between Popkoor d'Accord d'Accord and Maarten went so incredibly well that it was decided to continue cooperation. In Musical Wonderland (April 2012) he has served as second conductor and pianist. Now he is the conductor of Popkoor d'Accord.
