The Belgian-American tenor, Michaël Hudetz, obtained his Bachelor of Music Performance degree in Music Performance, Voice from North Central College (2016-2018); his Master of Music degree Voice and Opera from Northwestern University (August 2020-June 2022); and his Master of Musical Arts degree in Early Music, Oratorio, and Chamber Ensemble/Art Song from Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music (September 2022-May 2024)
Michaël Hudetz excels as both a soloist and a choral singer since September 2012. A former member of the Yale Voxtet, he regularly sings with renowned professional groups internationally, including thrice GRAMMY-winning choir The Crossing (since August 2022), Apollo's Fire (Director: Jeannette Sorrell), Bach Collegium Japan (Director: Masaaki Suzuki), Yale Schola Cantorum, Grant Park Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, and Chicago a Capella (since 2023-2014 Season), among others. Recent highlights include solo appearances in George Frideric Handel's L'Allegro at Lincoln Center (Masaaki Suzuki conducting) and J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London (David Hill, MBE conducting) along with other venues in a 2024 tour across the UK. In August 2024, he joined Bach Collegium Japan's European tour in Spain, Germany, and at B.B.C. Proms in London. He moved to Leuven, Belgium in 2013, but currently lives in his hometown Batavia, Illinois. |
