The English mezzo-soprano, vocal coach and choral conductor, Nicola Hunt (Dunne), began her musical journey at the Junior Royal Academy of Music and Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester (Class of 1997). She continued her vocal & opera undergraduate and post graduate studies at Royal Northern College of Music (Class of 2005), supported by the Peter Moores Foundation and the Wall Trust.
After graduation, Nicola Hunt toured internationally with Diva Opera for several years, and has enjoyed performing as a soloist with the UK’s finest choirs and orchestras in venues such as The Sage, the Wigmore Hall, and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, as well as performing locally at Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, and Kedleston Hall.
Having settled in the East Midlands, Nicola Hunt is in demand as a singer, choral conductor, workshop leader and musical teacher. She delivers vocal coaching and workshops throughout the community, from national organisations and high-level choral societies, through to grass-roots community choirs and EYFS music. She is privileged to be Music Director of several adult and children’s choirs throughout the East Midlands. She is Musical Director of Sonara singers and The Rockabillies Choir, Head of Singing at St. Anselm’s, Bakewell and delivers whole school music, specialist singing lessons and choir at The Old Vicarage School in Darley Abbey. In September 2024 Chameleon Choir appointed Nicola Hunt as its new Musical Director, succeeding the previous director, Linda Perry-Smith. |
