Jaekyung Jo (Soprano)

Born: 1996 - Seoul, South Korea

The Korean soprano, Jaekyung Jo (Korean: 조재경), began her musical career in the children's choir and then completed her bachelor's degree in singing at Chung-Ang University. In her childhood she performed as a soloist with the KBS Symphony Orchestra and had many performances as a choir member in the Lotte Concert Hall in the Seoul Arts Center. In 2021 she appeared on stage as a soloist at the Bucheon City Choir concert. Since 2022 she has been studying for her Master's degree in Baroque Singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under the direction of Professor Kai Wessel.

In 2023 Jaekyung Jo joined the Young Ensemble of the Stuttgarter Bachakademie as a soprano and took part in the Bach-Wochen. For the 2023-2024 season, she was accepted as a student into the Chorakademie der WDR Rundfunkchor Köln.
