Heejun Kang (Tenor)

Born: South Korea

The Korean tenor, Heejun Kang, studied under Professor Robert Wonjoon Lee at Hanyang University, Seoul, from 2013 to 2019. In 2013, as a specially invited singer, he sang at the inaugural exhibition 'Sonic Blossom' at the Mingwei Lee of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea. Soon after his military service, he won 2nd Prize in the singing competition 'Foreign Country Dispatch' in 2017. Since September 2019 his master's degree at the ochschule Musik, Theater, und Medien Hannoverr with Professor Markus Schäfer. He got master-classes with a full scholarship from great singers like Della Jones, Ramon Vargas. He is a scholarship holder of the Deutschlandstipendium Programm.

Heejun Kang sang Belmonte in W.A. Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail at Oper auf dem Lande with the support of Stiftung Edelhof Ricklingen in July, August 2021; and Ferrando in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte at the Cosmopolis Festival in Kavala, Greece, in December 2021. Since February 2022, he is a member of the NDR Vokalensemble.
