The Canadian mezzo-soprano and actress, Jennifer Kee, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from the University Of Ottawa; and her Masters of Performance and Literature degree from the University Of Western Ontario. She also attended several workshops: On Camera Professional Actors Lab (Bruce Clayton), Armstrong Actors Studio (Laura Nordin), Tafelmusik Summer Baroque Instittue (Peter Harvey, Marshall Pynkosky, Ivars Taurins), Halifax Summer Opera Workshop (Andrew Picket, Nina Scott-Stoddart, Garry Williams). She studied voice with Sandra Graham, Ingemar Korjus, Simone Luti, Irene Overholt, Christiane Riel; acting with Michael Cavanagh, David Hogan, David Rogers; dance with Metro Movement - Laura Nordin Nero (Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet), Adele MacKenzie. Her awards include: NATS 2nd Place - Graduate Student Category; London Opera Guild Scholarship Recipient; Canadian Idol, Top 30.
In opera, Jennifer Kee has particpated in W.A. Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte (Chorus) with Canadian Opera Company; G. Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera (Chorus) with Canadian Opera Company; C. Monteverdi L’incoronazione di Poppea with Ottavia UWOpera under Theodore Baerg; H. Purcell's Dido And Aneas (Scenes) as Dido with TBSI under Marshall Pynkoski; Griselda as Griselda with UWOpera under John Hess; George Frideric Handel's Alcina as Ruggiero with HSOW under Garry Williams; W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöe as Papagena with University of Ottawa under Sandra Graham. She has also performed as an actress in theatre, film and television. |
