The German soprano, Anna Kellnhofer, studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar and as a scholarship holder of the Thyll Foundation Baroque singing at the Conservatorio di Verona E.F. Dall'Abaco. Her own training has been continued since 2016 in vocal and educational terms by Gudrun Bär.
Anna Kellnhofer is appreciated - especially in the field of early music - both as a soloist and as an ensemble voice. The formations with which she has performed include, among others, Ensemble Amarcord, Cantus Thuringia (Director: Bernhard Klapprott) & Capella, La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall), Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein (Director: Ludger Rémy), Camerata Bachiensis, Lautten Compagney Berlin (Director: Wolfgang Katschner) and United Continuo Ensemble. She has been a guest at various festivals, including Bachfest Leipzig, Thüringer Bachwochen, Bach Biennale Weimar, MDR Music Summer, Oude Muziek and Musica Sacra Maastricht.
The directors Margit Legler, Nils Niemann and Sigrid T'Hooft trained Anna Kellnhofer in historical acting and gesture. She made her debut in 2008 in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas at the Händelfestspiele Halle and could be seen from 2012 to 2017 at the Liebhabertheater Schloss Kochberg in the productions Erwin und Elmire, Pimpinone and Der Misanthrop.
In addition to her concert career Anna Kellnhofer teaches at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar Historical Singing and - together with the harpsichordist Gerd Amelung - performance practice of the recitative. |
