The German-Turkish mezzo-soprano, Sirin Kilic, studied at the Musikhochschule Freiburg with Professor Towako Sato-Schöllhorn and in the Lied class of Professor H.P. Müller. Furthermore, she completed an advanced course of study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Baroque singing to deepen her great interest in historical performance practice. There she worked with artists such as Andreas Scholl and Andrea Marcon.
After completing her studies, Sirin Kilic made her debut in the leading female role in the world premiere of Ludger Vollmer's opera Gegen die Wand at the Oper Bremen (October-December 2009). Other roles at the Oper Bremen included Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni (February-June 2010, January-March 2011), Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, Count Orlowsky in Strauss' Die Fledermaus (December 2009-December 2010), Second Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (November-December 2009), Tisbe and others. Her most recent appearance in the early music repertoire was at the Staatsoper Stuttgart in Monteverdi's Orfeo (July 2022). She also appeared as Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Theater für Niedersachsen. She returned to the Oper Bremen for the world premiere of Moritz Eggert's opera All diese Tage.
Sirin Kilic has been working freelance since 2012. Since then, she has performed at the Nationaltheater Mannheim in a Calixto Bieito production of Henry Purcell's The Tempest (January-June 2014/2015), and other important debuts in recent years include appearances at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (May 2014), Theater Freiburg, and Staatstheater Karlsruhe in the title role of Ravel's L'enfant et les sortileges (October 2014-January 2015). She appeared as the Second Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Theater Bremen and returned to the Theater Freiburg as Thamar in the world premiere of Ludger Vollmer's opera Crusades (January-July 2017).
At the Hessischen Staatstheater's May Festival, Sirin Kilic sang the role of Mete in Stefan Pfeiffer's opera Vom Ende der Unschuld. She has also performed as a guest artist at, among others, the Schwetzinger Schlossfestspielen, Beethovenfest Bonn, Pfingstfespielen Baden-Baden, Istanbul International Opera Festival, Athens Music Festival, and Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
