The Dutch tenor, Jean-Léon Klostermann, began his singing studies n 1998 at the Utrechtse Conservatorium with Henny Diemer. He attended master-classes with, among others, Mark Tucker and Anthony Rolfe-Johnson and drama lessons with Janet Aster and Vladimir Koifmann.
Jean-Léon Klostermann is professional independent singer since February 2003. He frequently performs as a concert singer. His repertoire includes works by all known and opera and oratorio composers. For example, under the direction of Roy Goodman, he sang the arias from J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) and Mass in B minor (BWV 232). He also performed several times as a tenor soloist at the Zaterdag Matinee Concertgebouw, for example as Trin in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West conducted by Edo de Waart and as Ulrich Eisslinger in Die Meistersinger under the baton of Jaap van Zweden.
On the opera stage, Jean-Léon Klostermann sang the title roles in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, in Nino Rota's Alladin und die Wunderlampe (Vlaamse Opera), in Kunnecke's Der Vetter aus Dingsda (De Nieuwe Nederlandse Operette) and in Conti's Don Chisciotte in Sierra Morena (Opera aan het IJ). He has sungs solo roles at De Nederlandse Opera (July 2008-July 2012), Opera Trionfo, Barok Opera Amsterdam, Holland Opera, De Nederlandse Reisopera, Muziektheater Hollands Diep (2008-2011), and at various festivals at home and abroad. In addition to opera and oratorio, he regularly performs Lieder recitals together with Reinild Mees.
Jean-Léon Klostermann also works as Mental Coach in his own studio Coaching Lemelerberg since September 2015. |
