The American soprano, Shauna Kreidler Michels, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice & Opera (2002-2006) and her Master oif Music degree in Voice & Opera (2006-2008), both from Shenandoah University.
Shauna Kreidler Michels has been a freelance Classical singer since 2005, mostly in Washington D.C. Metro Area. She is a versatile operatic soprano, soloist, consort singer, professional chorister and cantor. She has captivated audiences throughout France, Italy, Austria, Costa Rica, and the eastern seaboard of the USA - primarily performing in and around our nation’s capital. She has appeared as a soloist with the City Choir of Washington, the Washington Master Chorale, the Front Royal Oratorio Society, Baroque ensemble Three-Notch’d Road, the choir of Ascension and St. Agnes, the Shenandoah Arts Academy Chorale, Six Degree Singers, and as a guest soloist with many churches in Maryland, Virginia, and the District. She has performed with groups ranging from the National Symphony Orchestra to the new-music powerhouse Great Noise Ensemble.
Currently, Shauna Kreidler Michels is an ensemble member and soloist with the Washington Master Chorale (since 2009) and the Washington Master Chorale Chamber Singers; a founding member of the professional vocal ensembles Third Practice (since 2011) and Church Circle Singers; a staff soprano at St. Stephen Martyr (since June 2015). She was Soprano Section at Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, Virginia (September 2014-May 2015). Since March 2015, she also works as Content Project Coordinator/Analyst in ProQuest in Bethesda, Maryland.
Shauna Kreidler Michels has also been featured in performances with the Washington Revels (Lisner Auditorium), with the Washington Revels Gallery Voices (Sydney Harman Hall; Cultural Arts Center at Montgomery College), and can be heard on recent recordings from both Washington Revels (Sing and Rejoice) and Washington Master Chorale (The Earth and I).
Shauna Kreidler Michels married Alden Michels on November 4, 2012. She currently lives in Bethesda, Maryland. |
