The Dutch bass, Jasper Leever, studied singing at Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (2011-2016). He graduated with for his Masters studies at the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2016-2018). At the Dutch National Opera Academy he performed the roles of Il Commendatore in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni (2016), Pandolfe in Massenet’s Cendrillon (2017) and Tarquinius in Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia (2018). He then graduated with the role of Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte. He has participated in master-classes led by Ben Heppner, Sir Thomas Allen, Deborah Polaski, Pietro Spagnoli, Thomas Hampson, Gordon Gerrard, Russel Braun and Sir Willard White.
Jasper Leever was part of the Opera Studio in Stuttgart, Germany (September 2018-2020), where he performed in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia, Tchaikovsky’s Pique dame, W.A. Mozart's Schauspieldirektor, Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos and Salomé. He sang the roles of Colline in La Bohème, Dottore Grenvil in La Traviata, Zweite Geharnishter in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Steuermann in Tristan und Isolde, Vierter Edler in Lohengrin, Il Conte di Ceprano in Rigoletto, Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Buff in Der Schauspieldirektor and Grimbald in Artus in the 2019-2020 season.
Highlights of his engagements are the Zaterdagmatinee Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Verbier Festival in Switzerland (under the direction of Charles Dutoit and Stanislav Kochanovsky), Bredeweg Festival in Amsterdam, ‘Opera in the 21st Century’ in Banff Canada, Nederlandse Reisopera and the International Bach Festival in Gran Canaria. |
