The Venezuelan mezzo-soprano, Génesis Beatriz López Da Silva, began singing and mandolin lessons at an early age. At the age of 15, she began studying opera singing with Professor Betzabeth Talavera at the Conservatorio de Música Simón Bolívar and mandolin with Saúl Vera. After a year of working in the youth choir Coro Juvenil del Núcleo San Agustín, she became assistant to the choir director, alto soloist and led a children's choir in the well-known music school El Sistema. There she sang, among other things, L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No 9, Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Leoncavallo's Il Pagliacci and Torroba's Zarzuela Luisa Fernanda.
In 2016 Génesis López came to Germany as an au pair and has been studying opera singing with Professor Mechthild Georg since the winter semester of 2018, graduating in 2024. In the recent past she has been heard at Lieder recitals, the concert “Clara goes Jazz” and the production of W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (HfMT Köln). She is a member of BachWerkVokal Salzburg (Director: Gordon Safari). |
