The American tenor, David McSweeney, studied music while pursuing an engineering degree from Brown University (1983-1987).
David McSweeney has appeared both as a chorister and soloist with several local ensembles, including Emmanuel Music (Director: Ryan Turner), Boston Baroque (Director: Martin Pearlman), Blue Heron Renaissance Choir, The Orpheus Singers, Handel and Haydn Society (Director: Harry Christophers), and Boston Secession. Recent solo appearances include George Frideric Handel's Israel in Egypt with the Handel and Haydn Society and Dietrich Buxtehude's Heut Triumphieret Gottes Sohn with Boston Baroque. He has also soloed with the Philharmonic Society of Arlington, Boston Cecilia, Monadnock Music, Wellesley Choral Society, and Phillips Exeter Academy.
